Wouldn’t you like to be a pepper too?
Best marketing gamble ever.
Earlier this year, soda manufacturer Dr Pepper promised to give one of its soft drinks to everyone in America if Guns N’ Roses managed to release its long-awaited Chinese Democracy album before the end of 2008. Anyone in the country was said to be eligible for the offer excluding former GNR members Slash and Buckethead.
Now that Axl and company have set a release date of November 23, Dr Pepper says it will make good on the offer. Those who wish to claim their free soda can go to the Dr. Pepper website on November 23 and enter some of their personal information in return for a coupon for one 20-ounce drink that should arrive within the following 4-6 weeks. They’ll expire in February 2009.

Guns n Roses/Dr. Pepper should just put a peel-off sticker inside their CD cases for the coupon. The waiting 4-6 weeks for a voucher smacks of a Cap’n Crunch promotion.
If you’re gonna do it, then DO IT. Still, it is funny that this album is actually gonna come out. I can almost guarantee that it’ll be crap.
My CPU hates audio for some reason. I’ll try to listen to the link through another medium. Is it any good?
It’s probably exactly what you think it is without having listened.
The screams of a bunch of slopes getting shot to death in Tiananmen Square?

Awesome. I’ll drink it with my free taco from Taco Bell.
