Worcester immigrant sanctuary plan

So in reality, the only bad that could come from Worcester becoming a sanctuary city is a 450% increase in the quality of local food offerings and maybe, just maybe I’ll be able to afford to have a guy mow my lawn.
But, Worcester being what it is try explain that to the locals who feel compelled to scapegoat anything that may out their own failings.

No kids, that’s a loosing battle. But you can still find a good time in all of this! Check out the local Klan meeting going down in the comments section of today’s T&G coverage.

No place for hate? Right.

I lost a few points of IQ from reading that. I am amazed that the Telegram makes its shithouse walls available for such tripe.

Reading comments on news articles is my new favorite hobby. Check out some of these, I haven’t had the time to read through all 968 of them yet. Here’s a sample:

“Bob, you sound like a feminist.
Feminist abuse has destroyed so many men’s lives in the last 40 years that I changed my attitude. Now, even when the guy is wrong, I’m on his side. It is a question of principles.”

I’m always surprised at what the T&G hosts on their website. Don’t they know this makes them look bad?

I’m reminded of the great Wall Street Journal ads whose message was, “If you want to be one of the smart, successful people, subscribe to the WSJ.”

These comments send another message: “When you subscribe to the T&G, you join a whole community of fearful, hateful, ignorant people who can’t spell.”

    My favorite so far is:

“I fail to see the word RACIST in ILLEAGAL AILIAN.”

    I like the :

Where’s Hitler when you need him?
    -US Citizen

I didn’t realize illegal Jews were a problem in Worcester. I think this guy is from Sutton and is getting deported as we speak.

My only issue is that it seems everyone that disagrees with the illegal situation is being labeled a racist. A majority of the people (excluding US Citzen of course) seem to be arguing that although they are for legal immigration, you should follow the laws when it comes to illegals.

Wow. I find the overall attitude in that thread of comments very disheartening. and I feel a little defensive about it too. One of my best friends had to come here in a “grey” area of the law. She is one of the most hard working, motivated and deserving people I know. She spent years and countless amounts of money to become legal once she was here and I respect her for that.
For me she set a standard for what illegal immigrants should do. So generally I feel that if someone comes here they should do what they can to make their situation right - instead of just trying to hide under the radar. If an immigration santuary plan is going to facilitate illegal immigrants getting into the programs and involved with processes to become legal I am all for it.

The overall attitude reflected in those comments about Immigrants (illegal or otherwise) are stereotyping in the most ignorant way. and if they think that there isnt a population of illegals already in the city then they are kidding themselves.
Perhaps noone really knows how many are here because they are doing their best to abide by the law and work hard to help themselves and their families to improve their lives.
not everyone who comes here is looking for a free ride. Most illegals realize that if they do not “behave” then they will be deported and will no longer have the same opportunites that they want to provide for their families.
It is beyond me how anyone can begrudge a person for that.

Perhaps most people commenting on that thread do not understand how differant and even dangerous life is in other countries. how differant life in general can be when you are not born in a country like ours.

Enter the country legally, learn English and assimilate like the immigrants of years past. That’s what made America great. Public officials who defy federal law must be arrested, prosecuted, convicted and jailed.

Little Rock school desegration could never be enforced today!
