CanalFest ‘06

Celebrating the Blackstone that was:
Blackstoneold

And introducing the Blackstone that could be:
Blackstonenew

…is obviously no easy task. But the CanalFest team did a great job pulling things together. What seemed like a solid turnout of a very diverse crowd, excellent food, ACTUAL WATER ON HARDING STREET (if only temporary) and a real healthy vibe from the visitors made for a great afternoon; and I admit, I’m just a little surprised. One thing that stood out and was both frustrating as all hell and fascinating at the same time; Worcesterites in general have no idea how to function in a crowd. Maybe it’s just been to long for many in the city, but I was only there 5 min before the first of many walked into me seeming overwhelmed and disoriented. People almost looked to be in shock at having a real crowd in an area many wrote off years ago. Well get used to it folks, I don’t think Fletcher and company will let this one die off easy. The whole city deserves a pat on the back for this one. Green Island has been the shit for years, it’s nice to see everyone else catching on.

We would need to make sure they’re all up on their shots first.
