Thank you Cingular
I bought my house a year and a half ago. The very first thing when I did when I got to the showing was check my mobile to see what kind of service I had. As it turned out I had none. This was an odd thing to discover as I could pretty much throw a rock at the Cingular tower that sits up the street from my place, but we got a great deal on the house and i overlooked this technological shortcoming. Since then I’ve gotten used to my VoIP service from Vonage, the first land line I had in about 3 years. But last night something funny happened, I was sitting on my couch throwing some appointments in my Treo and BAM! 4 bars of service. The timing couldn’t be better as I was planning on heading up to the towers myself and just reaiming them for my betterment, which would have probably killed service for the rest of western Worcester and surely ended in my own death by electrocution. This saves us all some trouble and me a hospital stay or jail time courtesy of the FCC.
So thanks Cingular, you still have shitty CS and over priced data plans. But for this moment in time, I love you.
If you live in an area with marginal service, or are traveling to an area you think may leave you without, heres a pretty cool site that lets you take a look at both the towers in your area and rate the service. link
